Job Introduction

Ready to make your mark and shape the future of digital transformation?

We’re looking for an experienced Procurement and Commercial Manager to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract, and this is no ordinary procurement role. This is a rare opportunity to take centre stage in a high-profile transformation programme, where your expertise in IT procurement will directly influence multimillion-pound decisions and drive real change from the inside out.

You'll be embedded at the heart of our digital change agenda, working closely with senior leaders and decision-makers. This is your chance to be highly visible, to steer strategic sourcing, and to own key supplier relationships in a way that will have a tangible impact on our organisation’s future.

This role offers a unique platform to grow your CV with meaningful, high-impact experience. You won’t be one of many, you’ll be in a pivotal position where your knowledge and ideas will be heard, valued, and implemented. If you’re ready to step into a role where your IT procurement expertise won’t just support change but will help shape it, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end procurement and commercial activity across strategic transformation programmes, including sourcing, tendering, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Advise and influence senior stakeholders, including Executives and Programme Leads, shaping procurement strategies and commercial aspects of business cases.
  • Drive innovation and value creation, developing commercial models that deliver cost savings, risk mitigation, and supplier performance excellence.
  • Embed strong financial and risk governance, ensuring compliance with policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements across all procurement processes.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration, building stakeholder understanding of procurement best practice and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead change and champion new ways of working, supporting the successful implementation of procurement systems, policies, and transformation goals.

What We’re Looking For:

You’ll bring a rare mix of commercial acumen, leadership confidence, and transformation experience. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience commercially leading large-scale IT projects or enterprise-wide transformation programmes.
  • Strong track record in contract negotiation, drafting, and strategic sourcing.
  • In-depth understanding of procurement lifecycle best practice, legislation, and commercial risk management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, comfortable engaging at Exec level.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to develop cost models, commercial strategies, and benefit realisation plans.
  • A hands-on, proactive approach with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in using procurement systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • MCIPS (or working towards) or equivalent professional procurement qualification is desirable.
  • Experience in supplier relationship management and category strategy development.
  • Background in financial services, public sector, or complex regulated environments.

This is a high-impact role where you'll have the opportunity to shape strategic outcomes across a major transformation programme. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and executive leadership, influencing decisions at the highest level. If you're looking to make a meaningful contribution, drive lasting commercial value, and be part of change that truly benefits members, this is your chance to do it.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. We celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity and strive to create a work environment which ensures everyone can be heard.

In return, we can offer you:

  • Up to 30% discretionary annual bonus
  • 11% pension contribution (3% from you, 8% from us optional additional matched 3% contributions, e.g. 6% from you, 11% from us)
  • 30 days annual leave plus flexible bank holidays (with additional option to buy/sell 5 days)
  • Private Medical Cover
  • Healthcare cash plan
  • 6x salary death in service
  • Paid volunteering day
  • A personal GP service enabling you to get a video consultation with an NHS-registered, private GP
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • A range of shopping discounts from major high-street retailers
