Location: Leeds (Hybrid – 2 days per week on site)
Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full Time
Salary: £47,000 - £61,000 (DOE)
The Data Science Systems Analyst plays a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining the pricing systems that underpin actuarial technical pricing models. Working across the full pricing lifecycle—from data extraction to premium modelling—you will ensure pricing coefficients and rating structures are accurately implemented, tested, and maintained in line with approved pricing decisions and governance frameworks. Through this work, the role supports sustainable growth, strong underwriting and risk management, and fair, financially secure outcomes for members across the business.
As our new Data Science Systems Analyst, you will also:
- Ensure high‑quality, timely internal and external data to support pricing models and rate setting.
- Build, maintain, and deliver predictive pricing models and technical pricing coefficients into core pricing systems.
- Design and manage efficient data pipelines, SQL environments, pricing emulators, and analytical tools.
- Deliver clear, data‑driven pricing insight to support retail pricing decisions, financial planning, and portfolio performance.
- Collaborate with pricing, actuarial, data, digital, and change teams to safely implement model and system changes.
- Support fair, accurate, and compliant pricing through strong governance, testing, and risk management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, automation, and transformation across pricing analytics and systems.
- Engage with internal stakeholders from all divisions to ensure that there is awareness of technical pricing process recommendations
We are looking for:
- Background in data science, analytics, or data governance, with an understanding of GDPR and data governance principles.
- Experience working with complex datasets and databases, supporting analysis and system delivery.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills, with a creative and results‑driven mindset.
- Experience in systems analysis, implementation, and testing within data‑driven environments.
- Coding experience in one or more of Python, R, SAS, SQL, or Oracle.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to use analytics to inform and support business strategy.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills, with the ability to manage work across multiple environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain complex technical concepts and influence stakeholders at all levels.
