Tax Manager

Job Introduction

A varied and global opportunity has arisen for a Group Tax Manager to join our Finance team here at MPS. We’re looking for an experienced Tax Manager to develop and drive the tax function forward, bringing more tax knowledge in-house. 

MPS is a global organisation working across different jurisdictions (including New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, South Africa, and Hong Kong). As the Group Tax Manager, you will effectively manage all aspects of corporate tax, ensuring they are accurately reported and paid on time. 

You will be the main point of contact advising MPS on tax related matters including upcoming projects. The role offers plenty of autonomy as you will lead the tax function and work with our Senior Management team and Exec Committee.

Role Responsibility

  • Managing all aspects of UK corporation tax including quarterly current and deferred UK corporation tax provisions; preparation of the quarterly instalment calculations and all information needed for the completion of the annual tax provision and returns with the support of our UK external advisors.
  • Providing advice to the business on tax issues, such as changes in tax legislation, tax strategy, transfer pricing and entering new markets.
  • Provide leadership across our Finance division for tax matters to support delivery on the overall corporate strategy, business performance, leadership of teams that reinforces the desired culture and delivery of strategic priorities.
  • Support the delivery of the Finance strategy ensuring that finance related activities comply with the necessary regulatory and legal standards, including those required by Lloyd’s of London, and are in accordance with policy standards and risk frameworks set by Council.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of corporate taxation rules, together with associated accounting and reconciliation skills. You will also have practical experience in managing and improving tax processes.

In this varied role, you will work with stakeholders and advisors across the globe so the successful candidate will have excellent stakeholder management skills and an interest in understanding and growing the business in new jurisdictions.
