Group Risk Manager - Non-Financial

Job Introduction

As our Group Risk Manager, you will own the development of risk and control frameworks and implement risk management routines across the whole organisation. You will be exposed to all aspects of MPS, working closely with senior stakeholders and our Executive team.

You will create, lead and embed a healthy risk and compliance culture across MPS, whilst monitoring and providing robust challenge of emerging risks and issues that may arise from business activities. By providing second line assurances against risk, the Senior Group Risk Manager position plays a pivotal role in promoting the financial security and long-term sustainability of MPS.

This is a real opportunity for either an experienced Risk professional looking for a fresh challenge or someone ready to take that next step in their career.

That’s why this role sits under our Hybrid working model, meaning there will be a blend of home and office-based working to suit your individual needs and the needs of the business. This tends to be once or twice a week, but we care more about the work you do not where you do it.

Role Responsibility

As our new Senior Group Risk Manager, you will also:

  • Oversee the development, delivery and ongoing management of the risk and solvency assessment process
  • Ensure that all aspects of risk management are forward looking and contribute towards our corporate strategy
  • Lead the training, competence, performance and engagement of Group Risk divisional colleagues, providing clarity on accountabilities and ensuring compliance with all governance, policy standards and processes
  • Continuously champion the compliance and risk management agenda across the Organisation
  • Provide Risk Management advice and support to the business to protect MPS, its members and colleagues.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of risk management principles and methodologies within a regulated environment
  • Ability to translate complex information and best practice for our discretionary products
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of FCAIPRA rulebooks and their application
  • Experience working with financial services or insurance

Package Description
