Security Operations Analyst

Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Operations Analyst to join our Information Security team based in either Leeds or London! 

As our new Information Security Analyst, you will play a crucial role in protecting MPS against information security risks through the delivery of consistent, high-quality security assurance and controls. 

Under the guidance and coaching of our Security Operations Manager, you will be joining a team of proactive and supportive Security Operations Analyst's in conducting technical assessments of MPS’s network, systems and software applications. 

Through the application of your in-depth knowledge of information and cyber security, technology architecture and business security, you will ensure our IT environment remains stable, robust and secure. 

This a hybrid role with a blend of home and office-based working. As MPS colleagues are spread across the UK, we utilise technology to facilitate our roles with occasional travel to our offices in Leeds or London, likely once or twice a month. 

Role Responsibility

As our new Security Operations Analyst, you will also: 

  • Play the lead role of Identity and Access Management 

  • Support the delivery of systems to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of MPS networks 

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of controls which mitigate risks identified against numerous Information Security frameworks 

  • Assist the conduct of security audits detailing recommendations, improvements and corrective actions 

  • Conduct operational monitoring and remediation of security threats and vulnerabilities via logical security tools and products 

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for: 

  • Experience of privileged access/account management 

  • Significant experience of information security from a technical and compliance perspective  

  • Experience in Active Directory and Azure systems  

  • Experience of disaster recovery planning 

  • Working knowledge of deploying and managing security solutions 

  • Solid understanding of network and infrastructure security best practices
