Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Procurement Category Manager to join our Procurement team based in either Leeds!

As our IT Procurement Category Manager, you will ensure best value for money through sound sourcing strategies and negotiation skills through all stages of the procurement lifecycle.

From embedding world-class category management and shaping and delivering our procurement strategy, ensuring compliance from the wider business to developing robust frameworks and policy, our Procurement team play a pivotal role in ensuring the long-term financial viability of MPS.

As MPS colleagues are spread across the UK, we utilise technology to facilitate our roles with occasional travel to our office in Leeds or London. Our Procurement Team tend to come on-site once a week depending on the needs of the business.

Role Responsibility

As our new IT Procurement Category Manager, you will also:

• Support across MPS Divisions to leverage the capabilities of third parties and ensuring effective and robust supply chain due diligence and governance
• Manage and develop the production of metrics from third parties and organisational data sources to inform business decisions
• Develop colleague understanding of relevant processes and policies through on-going dialogue with colleagues and through periodic workshops
• Deliver on agreed strategic procurement projects across MPS Group, aligned to business strategy and supporting the financial security of the membership fund whilst enabling sustainable growth

The Ideal Candidate

• Minimum of 2 years IT sector experience
• Detailed knowledge of procurement practice, legislation, supplier, and contract management
• Analytical skills and strong commercial acumen
• Significant Category Management experience and outstanding strategic sourcing and contract management expertise
