We have a vacancy for a permanent Pricing Analyst to join the team due to internal development. Working in a small, close knit team, and reporting into the Senior Pricing Analyst you will assist in the pricing of all MPS’s worldwide business and provide insight to areas of opportunity and mitigate areas of concern.

Role Responsibility

Subscription Analysis

To assist the Senior Pricing, Business Analysts and Head of Pricing in setting subscriptions across MPS worldwide business making sure subscriptions are set appropriately and accurately and that appropriate controls are incorporated into process.

Ensure the final rates are set and go live is achieved.

Liaise with the company actuary to make sure that analysis, assumptions and results are correct and resolve any issues that may arise.

Provide responses to requests for ad hoc pricing schemes.

Data Warehouse and Analytical Systems

Assist the Pricing & UW Information Manager and Analyst with the maintenance and development of MPS’s data warehouse and subsidiary analytical systems, determining the analytical requirements for enhancements to the business intelligence suite and making sure that data quality is of the highest standard.

Reserving Analyses

To assist the Senior Pricing, Business Analysts and Head of Pricing in setting reserves across MPS worldwide business Implementing appropriate controls into the reserving setting process and making sure reserves are set appropriately and accurately. Liaising with the appropriate staff across the organisations to ensure that their input into reserving setting is received and provide feedback to areas of concern.

Provide responses to requests for ad hoc schemes

Systems

Assist the Senior Pricing, Business Analysts and Head of Pricing in all matters relating to the upgrade, transition and on-going maintenance of appropriate systems.

Projects

Provide assistance within Projects as identified by the Head of Pricing making sure projects proceed as planned, answering any queries relating to progress and attending project meetings.

Data Mining and Modelling

Assist the Head of Pricing and Data Scientist in mining MPS’ data for insights and trends to inform the business on claims experience, member numbers and lifetime value.

The Ideal Candidate

This role would suit someone with some or all of the following skills & experience:

• Mathematical degree and relevant work experience
• Previous experience in an analyst role, ideally within pricing or similar area
• Insurance experience
• Experience with SPSS, Cognos, SQL and MS packages
• An interest or qualification in Data Science 
• Presentation skills, and the ability to convey complex data in an easy to understand format
