Policy and Advice Lead

Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for a Policy and Advice Lead to join our People and Culture Division based in Leeds!

As a member of the People and Culture leadership team, the People Policy and Advice Lead will provide leadership and critical thinking on the UK and International employee relations agenda including ensuring effective engagement with colleagues, management of people policies, governance and risk.

You will lead 5 Policy and Culture Advisers to deliver best practise leadership, promote our desired culture and support our c1000 employees across 8+ countries. Working closely with the leadership team, the Policy and Advice Lead plays a pivotal role in the development and execution of our People Strategy and corporate objectives.

This position has a blend of home and office-based working, to suit you and the needs of the business. This is typically 1-2 days per week on-site at our Leeds office and tends to be between Tuesday to Thursday.

Role Responsibility

You will also:

  • Work with other People and Culture leaders to set and deliver the budget ensuring an efficient and effective Policy and Advice operating model
  • Monitor and provide robust challenge of emerging people risks and issues arising from business activities
  • Lead on assigned People and Culture projects affecting MPS wide and roll out other projects/initiatives within P&C
  • Establish a culture and capability in Lean / continuous improvement to drive operational efficiency and great colleague experiences
  • Build a strong internal and external network to inform continuous professional development,and contribute thought-leadership on people policies and practice

The Ideal Candidate

  • Significant up-to-date knowledge of employment law, best practice, contemporary approaches and people policies and procedures
  • Experience within a People/HR Operational Leadership role
  • Change management/Projects management/Lean (six sigma) /Continuous Improvement skills
  • Detailed knowledge of people and culture and employee relations approaches, methods and their application
