People Culture Adviser (Australia)

Job Introduction

Based in Brisbane our People and Culture Adviser will deliver an efficient and effective employee relations, administration and advisory service to leaders in Australia, NZ and South East Asia, ensuring effective engagement with colleagues and that management of all people related issues are consistent with internal policies, processes and legal requirements, to ensure the business remains compliant and within agreed People risk appetite.

Role Responsibility

  • To support the development and delivery of the People & Culture strategy
  • Promote positive employee relations and champion a community environment which enables the diversity agenda, wellbeing of our colleagues and promotes MPS as a positive brand
  • Support with assigned People & Culture projects
  • Support with annual and monthly HR processes (salary, bonus and moderations)
  • People administrative tasks relating to employee relations, payroll and benefits, training and development, maintenance of the HR systems
  • Produce insight and analysis from people metrics and organizational data to inform business decisions and improvement recommendations
  • Monitor and provide robust challenge of emerging people risks and issues arising from business activities which fail to deliver appropriate and consistent outcomes for members
  • To coach leaders across MPS to improve their leadership capability to create a high performing, engage and diverse team

The Ideal Candidate

  • Formal qualification within a HR related discipline
  • Detailed knowledge of human resources and employee relations approaches, methods and their application
  • Experience interpreting Australian and NZ employment legislation and individual awards
  • Experience within policy development
