Medicolegal Consultant

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

The Member Protection and Support Division is at the forefront of protecting the careers, reputations and financial risk of our members worldwide. The purpose of the role is to provide trusted and valued medicolegal services to our members.

In 2019 we made the decision to move closer to our members and as such we are recruiting a team of highly skilled and knowledgeable medicolegal consultants, case managers in Ireland for the first time. This is a fantastic opportunity to come onboard at the start of an exciting time for MPS and shape the way we expand internationally.

Role Responsibility

The purpose of the role is to provide medicolegal case management services. Our MLC's advise members by telephone, in correspondence and face to face, about a wide variety of medicolegal and ethical issues affecting their professional practice. This can include, but is not limited to: complaints, claims, inquests, disciplinary and IMC hearings, or a combination of one or more of these.

The Ideal Candidate

We are currently seeking 3 MLCs to join our teams, the successful candidates are required to have both graduate and, ideally, postgraduate medical degrees and/or diplomas and to be fully registered and licensed with the recognised regulator within the relevant jurisdiction (e.g. the IMC).

A healthcare law qualification and/or experience in a medico-legal setting would be advantageous but is not essential.

To be considered for the role you will also need to be able to demonstrate commercial awareness and operational understanding.

These roles are full-time positions in Dublin, the offices are still being finalised but are likely to be within a commutable distance of the centre of Dublin whilst we do offer some flexibility in relation to working location and hours, we would prefer to see applications from candidates who can commit to this. Due to the current COVID19 situation, we may onboard and induct new starters remotely and offer remote working until it is appropriate to work from an office.

Due to the urgency of these roles we may commence interviews prior to the closing date so please submit your application as soon as possible.

Package Description

  • 12% company pension contribution (3% from the individual)
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Health Care Cash Plan
  • 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
