Medicolegal Consultant

Job Introduction

The Member Protection and Support Division is at the forefront of protecting the careers, reputations and financial risk of our members worldwide. The purpose of the role is to provide trusted and valued medicolegal services to our members.

Role Responsibility

The purpose of the role is to provide medicolegal case management services. Our MLC's advise members by telephone, in correspondence and face to face, about a wide variety of medicolegal and ethical issues affecting their professional practice. This can include, but is not limited to: complaints, claims, inquests, disciplinary and GMC hearings, or a combination of one or more of these. 

 

The Ideal Candidate

We are currently seeking 5 MLCs to join our teams in our Leeds office, the successful candidates are required to have both graduate and, ideally, postgraduate medical degrees and/or diplomas and to be fully registered and licensed with the recognised regulator within the relevant jurisdiction (e.g. the GMC).

A healthcare law qualification and/or experience in a medico-legal setting would be advantageous but is not essential.

To be considered for the role you will also need to be able to demonstrate commercial awareness and operational understanding. 

These roles are full-time office based positions, whilst we do offer some flexibility in relation to working location and hours, we would like to see applications from candidates who can commit to this.
