Lead Infrastructure Analyst

Job Introduction

The Lead Infrastructure Analyst role will play a key part in shaping and delivering improved ways of working through the MPS cloud strategy, including delivering of new technologies and working approaches.

You’ll be a technical leader within the Infrastructure team, delivering and managing technical Infrastructure across the MPS Group to ensure we can provide a high quality, trusted, service to our members. This will be achieved through the design, maintenance, and day to day management of IT platforms which are scalable, reliable, resilient and performant.

Role Responsibility

  • You’ll act as a senior point of technical escalation Incidents and Problems, taking a lead role for a variety of problems
  • You will peer review change requests as part of the change management process and deputise for the Infrastructure Technical Manager as necessary
  • Provide occasional out of hours Infrastructure and triage support for MPS core systems as part of the on-call team
  • Work with other D&C Teams to deliver effective Service Management and Change of various complexity, adhering to in place governance
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve service delivery, contributing ideas and making suggestions on how processes, tooling, solutions, and ways of working can be enhanced
  • Liaising with 3rd party providers to obtain quotes for products and services relating to projects and for essential maintenance work and consultative work 

The Ideal Candidate

  • You’ll have extensive experience of working with and managing VMware platforms and services (e.g.: vCenter, SRM, Horizon VDI)
  • You’ll have experience of Dell storage and compute technologies, specifically Compellent SAN storage.
  • You’ll possess knowledge and understanding of CI/CD platforms
  • You’ll have experience of Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience of working with Microsoft client and server platforms is essential, and experience of designing + managing technical solutions across multiple geographic locations is also critical
  • Disaster recovery planning experience is preferred
  • Experience of delivering technical projects from design to implementation
  • Azure and Microsoft 365 services experience would be ideal, though not necessary
