IT Delivery Lead – Deliver, Run and Continuously Improve Business-Critical Technology Services
As an IT Delivery Lead, you will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery and continuous improvement of technology solutions that support strategic business objectives across one or more technology towers. Leading multidisciplinary squads, you will ensure that new capabilities and enhancements are delivered successfully on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards while also overseeing the ongoing maintenance, and optimisation of live services applicable to the Tower(s). The role is for someone who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, shaping delivery approaches where they are not yet fully defined, and bringing clarity, pace and control to complex enterprise change. You will monitor delivery performance and status, oversees the budget, delivery backlogs, manages risks and dependencies, and engage credibly with technical teams and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle. The IT Delivery Lead also provides leadership and direction to IT Delivery Managers and Technical Analysts, driving collaboration, continuous improvement, and the consistent delivery of business value.
As our new IT Delivery Lead, you will also:
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of projects, initiatives, change requests, and production fixes across one or more technology towers.
- Manage technical delivery from requirements and design through development, testing, implementation, and support.
- Able to operate effectively in ambiguity, bringing clarity, structure and momentum to evolving priorities and incomplete problem definition
- Act as the primary point of contact for technology delivery, ensuring clear communication and alignment with stakeholders.
- Drive Agile/Iterative ways of working, embedding consistent processes, workload planning, and delivery controls across teams.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, removing impediments and ensuring delivery priorities are achieved.
- Partner with Platform, DevOps, Infrastructure, Operations, InfoSec, and PMO/TMO teams to optimise delivery outcomes.
- Establish and manage flexible delivery teams, including vendor and third-party resources, to support strategic change programmes.
- Develop and track delivery metrics and KPIs to measure performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic technology partners to ensure successful delivery and value realisation.
- Promote best practice sharing through delivery management and Agile communities of practice.
- Develop a strong understanding of the technology landscape to effectively translate business and programme requirements into delivery plans.
- Lead and develop a talented team, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and continuously improving delivery culture.
We are looking for:
- Degree qualified in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience delivering technology programmes and projects within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
- Proven experience leading technology delivery teams and driving successful project outcomes in complex organisational environments.
- Strong technical understanding with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to gain commitment and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong financial and commercial awareness, including experience supporting business cases, value delivery, and investment decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and manage senior stakeholders across technology and business functions.
- Experience working in multinational, cross-functional environments and leading teams through change and transformation initiatives.
- Proven ability to mobilise and influence individuals and teams beyond direct reporting lines to achieve strategic objectives.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on identifying and addressing root causes.
- Experience supporting or leading digital transformation programmes and establishing high-performing product, platform, or delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery principles, governance, risk management, and continuous improvement practices.
