Dentolegal Consultant
Job Introduction
We have two exciting opportunities for Dentolegal Consultants to join our existing team on a full time, permanent basis. This role will be based at our Leeds office on a Hybrid working pattern.
We have a diverse team of Dentists from a range of backgrounds who work supporting our Cases and Claims Division by providing professional and technical support.
We are looking for a qualified Dentist registered with the GDC. Good communication skills are essential. As part of the team you will be involved in providing advice to members and assisting members with a range of dento-legal issues, including dealing with complaints, clinical negligence claims and Fitness to Practise matters before the General Dental Council.
This a hybrid role with a blend of home and office-based working. As MPS colleagues are spread across the UK, we utilise technology to facilitate our roles with occasional travel to our office in Leeds. The post may also require the occasional need to travel within the UK
Role Responsibility
- Assisting members with dento-legal matters and patient complaints
- Working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to assist & support members with a range of dento-legal and ethical matters
- Providing clinical reviews of cases and negligence claims
- Providing advice to members on our telephone advice service
- You will have the opportunity to be involved in assisting our members internationally
- There are also opportunities to be involved in delivering presentations
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified dentist registered with the GDC
- A minimum of 10 years experience in clinical practice
- Have a working knowledge of the NHS regulations and wider regulatory requirements relevant to dental practice
- Proven record of excellent communication
- Evidence of active interest and/or involvement in legal and ethical matters
- Having, or working towards, a post-graduate qualification in law and/or ethics would be an advantage
