Help shape pay decisions through data, insight and storytelling

At Medical Protection Society (MPS), we protect the careers, reputations and livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals around the world. Every day, our work helps doctors, dentists and healthcare professionals navigate some of the most challenging moments of their careers.

Behind that mission is a commitment to attracting, retaining and rewarding exceptional talent. That's where this role comes in.

We're looking for a highly analytical Data Analyst who can transform complex people, pay and payroll data into meaningful insight that influences business decisions. This is an opportunity to become the go-to expert for reward analytics, helping MPS understand not just what the data says, but what it means and what actions should follow.

You'll combine exceptional Excel expertise with commercial curiosity, bringing data to life through clear analysis, compelling visualisation and engaging storytelling. Whether you're modelling the impact of a pay review, identifying emerging trends, supporting strategic workforce decisions or presenting insights to the Reward team, you'll play a vital role in shaping how we reward and support our colleagues.

If you're someone who loves digging into complex data, spotting patterns others miss and creating clear narratives that drive action, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

You'll play a key role in supporting our reward and pay activities by:

  • Producing insightful analysis and reporting on pay, payroll and colleague data
  • Building models to support pay reviews and reward related projects
  • Conducting trend analysis, scenario modelling and financial impact assessments
  • Turning complex data into clear recommendations and business insights
  • Creating engaging reports that help stakeholders understand the story behind the data

You don't need experience working in a reward team or with pay related data. You'll bring Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, lookups, PivotTables, data reconciliation and analytical reporting. You'll stand out if you're someone who:

  • Doesn't just report the numbers but explains what they mean
  • Can build a compelling narrative from data
  • Is naturally curious and enjoys digging beneath the surface
  • Challenges assumptions using evidence and insight
  • Enjoys finding better ways of analysing, visualising and communicating data

In return, we can offer you:

  • 11% pension contribution (3% from you, 8% from us – optional additional matched 3% contributions, e.g. 6% from you, 11% from us)
  • 25 days annual leave. Flexible public holidays and option to buy/sell additional leave
  • Private Medical Cover
  • 6x salary death in service
  • Holistic health and wellbeing support package
  • A truly flexible hybrid-working arrangement
  • A culture that promotes inclusivity, wellbeing and rewards hard work

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, and we encourage you to apply even if you feel you do not match 100% of the technical requirements. We celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity and strive to create a work environment which ensures everyone can be heard.

Who We Are

Medical Protection Society (MPS) is the world’s leading protection organisation for Doctors, Dentists and healthcare professionals. We protect and support the professional interests of almost 300,000 Members around the world.

We are a not-for-profit organisation, meaning our Members’ premiums are kept safe should our Members require support for complaints or claims arising from professional practice, or invested into bettering the organisation, our colleagues and our products.

Our philosophy is to support safe practice in medicine and dentistry by helping to avert problems in the first place. We also actively campaign for regulatory and legal reforms that benefit Members and the wider healthcare professions.

To do this, we need colleagues who are trusted and supported to deliver their best work, whether that be through leadership development, fully-funded training courses or peer-to-peer support. We want our colleagues to feel empowered enough to deliver positive change, display ambition to push themselves and are determined when faced with a challenge, whilst ensuring our Member’s best interests are at the core.
